Vertigo Allegro in Indigo

Clutched,

spun in terror,

gripped by rage,

my eyes deceive

Fire and grief,

I bleed, spinning, listening,

inhuman laughter splatters

Shattered visions falling,

screaming at the blur

unsure of perspective

Settling

upon my bed,

resting my head,

exchanging one dream

For another,

never waking

    • Thank you. Exchanging waking nightmares can be rather relentlessly nightmarish. Sadly, it can also be someone’s reality, too. Thanks for reading. 🙂

  1. It’s not often I have dreams as you describe Barry, but as I do, I know the horror. Dreaming you’re awake and then realising your not, wondering if you will ever escape.

  2. Oh, I hate it when the nightmares won’t reveal themselves as only dreams. That used to happen to me all the time. I had to train myself to question the dream — an attempt at logic within the dream — to make them go away. Wow. This takes me back to a place I had forgotten. Thanks… It think…
