Pure Intimacy
“True intimacy is a state in which nothing exists between two people; no space, no inhibitions and no lies.” – Ranata Suzuki
Have you ever had pure intimacy?
Not to be confused with lingering,
humid summer passion,
it is timid, pallid winter sun
kissing ice crystals with fleeting beauty,
arriving at low angles on high latitudes,
vulnerable, rarely intense enough
to accompany morning tea,
breaking fast after breakfast as lovers
franticly throw open south-facing curtains
capturing as much tenuous warmth
as time and nature allows.
Ever leaned into a winter sunset?
It ignites frosty edges of clouds,
embracing with fiery shadows,
but then it is barely there,
gone in a ghostly cirrus whisper,
leaving Mercury in retrograde as lovers
shrouded in twilight wonder
if it ever existed at all.

I like Suzuki’s definition, and yes. Be careful what you wish for. Each beautiful light has its equivalent shadow. I really like the song and will look for more by this artist.

I recommend “The Score” by The Fugees. Wyclef was the front man.
I also recommend “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” by Lauryn Hill. It’s a classic. Don’t pay for her concerts though! She may not show up!
Thanks for visiting me here. 🙂

This really just melts me. These are my favorites:
“arriving at low angles on high latitudes,
vulnerable, rarely intense”
“gone in a ghostly cirrus whisper”
You are really good. I hope you will write every day.

Thank you for the wonderful compliments. I struggle with accepting effusive praise, but I’m pleased that you like my writing.
Writing everyday is a tall order, especially during the holidays. I’ll take a few breaks, but know that knowing that someone out there wants to read me is a tremendous boost and I’ll try not to let you down.
I see that you’ve taken your blog down. If you also write, I’d love to see your work as well. 🙂

That Lauryn Hill album is FABULOUS!
I’m mostly into photography and reading these days — not so much writing.
