One Day, While Sprinting to Check the Mail
I spied a nonagenarian
struggling to our mailboxes,
sluggish enough
to be considered
still-life.
I offered to help him.
He unhurriedly
glanced my way.
“Young man,
don’t worry,”
he said with a wry
twinkling smile.
“None of us are getting out of here alive.”

More wisdom there than you can fit in a mailbox!

I liked the contrast between the older person with plenty of time to get the mailbox and the younger one who felt rushed.

I too appreciate the different perspective on time and getting things done ~ We will end up the same way, anyway ~ Thanks for joining in ~

I love that I can see the entire bit happening. And, you always choose the best music as themes.

Thanks trE. I use to not even bother with music. Now I guess it’s part of the process. Pretty sure I picked that up from you. 😉

Haha! I’m not claiming that willingly, but I’ll take it. *big hugs*
